Inclusion & Diversity: Working within the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community
This year, CACHE is focusing on creating space for deeper learning, collaboration, and inclusion within our profession. We are honoured to welcome presenters Mary and Carolyn, who bring lived experience, professional knowledge, and compassionate perspectives to the conversation on diversity and inclusion in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
In this session, participants will:
Explore the vast diversity within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Gain insight into the historical context and ongoing challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
Understand the importance of inclusive language and the role of allyship in fostering trust and safety.
Learn actionable steps to create environments where clients and colleagues feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Through personal stories, reflective dialogue, and practical strategies, this presentation will support participants in expanding awareness, deepening respect, and strengthening inclusive practices in their work.
